#10 ROADMAP TO HEALTH – Gut Healing Protocol


In the winter of 2023, my daughter (the natural health guru in our family) suggested I do a protocol used to heal gut issues.  In fact, she is solely responsible for leading me in my journey of natural medicine and I am deeply grateful for the knowledge she has shared over the years. 


If she suggested it, I always tried it.  Was it easy?  No!  In fact, the easiest route is having faith and belief in the pharmaceutical industry.  However, people are now waking up to the fact that the industry is corrupt and cures nothing.  The easiest way to describe the pills they give out are “band aid solutions” with huge side-effects. I believe that industry is in business to create customers to depend on them.  That is my opinion, you may not agree and that is okay.


Did you know that over the counter pain killers like Tylenol (but all brands a guilty) create holes in your stomach?  I am sure I have taken thousands of pain killers in my lifetime.  For years now, I stopped taking all pain reliever pills.  Replacing pain relief with natural products (some made from Mother Earths natural herbs) or simply suffer through the pain. Fact is, the pain in your body is trying to communicate something is wrong.


It was decided to launch this protocol into my daily life.  It was expensive and honestly, quite challenging because it went on for 8 weeks.  I do not give up easily and basically breezed through it without any detox issues, which according to my daughter, is rare.  Apparently, it was a sign that I have become a healthy person (which made me happy).


If interested, here is the protocol to be taken a minimum of 8 weeks:


General, daily:

  • 3 L of pure water with a pinch of crystal salt in it.

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda first thing in the morning in very warm water – 1 cup

  • Nightly 20 minute baths with baking soda and Epsom salts and Himalayan crystal salt (1/3-1/2 cup of each – 20 minutes) – do a foot bath if you can't do a full body bath


Gut healing:

  • l-glutamine 1 scoop once or twice a day – 4.5 grams per scoop – add to a smoothy – gut mucosa repair (note…I added this to a glass of orange juice, did not do the smoothy thing)

  • aloe vera – 1 ounce twice a day on an empty stomach – halts gut inflammation

  • zinc picolinate 50mg a day with food – rebuilds basement membrane of gut

  • probiotics or fermented foods – at least once a day – rebuilds microbiome – use fermented foods also

  • cod liver oil – 1 tsp twice a day with food – make sure it contains natural vitamin A and D (it is important to take vitamin C with vitamin K2)

  • digestive enzyme with meals – a well rounded one

  • MSM Sulfur crystals (1 tsp twice a day) – drop into mouth, chase with a cold beverage of choice (I drank water) rebuilds all tissues and kills parasites

  • apple cider vinegar 1:1 dilution with water before meals – stimulates digestion

  • Nettle and red raspberry leaf tea – can drink all day warm or cold but preferably warm


Honestly, this was such a success for me. In fact, I continued to drink the tea, take vitamin C, cod liver oil and apple cider vinegar with breakfast and supper daily for quite some time. The  pictures posted  of the vitamin C and cod liver oil are recommended by the naturopath doctor that created this protocol.  Apparently, the brands are very important, expensive, but worth the price to correct the problem.
