TEA - Cedar Leaf

Ancient Native North Americans claim cedar was the first tree in Creation and is one of the most powerful medicinal plants in the world.  Cedar packs a very powerful punch when it comes to healing properties and has been used extensively by both herbalists and Natives alike for hundreds of years.

 

What’s so good about cedar leaf tea?

  • Cedar leaf tea has a pleasant taste and smell (always a good start)

  • Vitamin C is also an immune system booster which means that pine needle tea can help to fight illness and infections.

  • Helps reduce fevers

  • Has powerful expectorant properties relieving cough and bronchial conditions

  • Helps calm rheumatic pain

  • Cedar is a powerful antimicrobial

  • Will bring on delayed menstruation

  • Great for using leaves in your bath

  • Pick some cedar leaves and let them soak in boiling water on your stove to add a cedar aroma over the house

  • high in proanthocyanins compounds considered to be important for helping prevent cancer, and contains anti-aging and cardiovascular health

How to brew cedar leaf tea:

  • add cedar leaves to a tea pot

  • boil distilled water and pour into the teapot

  • simmer the tea for as long as you want (the longer, the stronger)

  • can add dash of lemon and/or some honey (if desired)
