Today I am heading out to harvest the famous Stinging Nettle leaves offered by Mother Nature for many ailments. Feel free to click on these links for further uses and advantages of this plant for homemade pain reliever salve and/or tea.
Step one is to dress well for the occasion, covering legs, arms and hands (with gloves). This plant stings your skin which often feels like a bee sting. Of course, Plasma Water will alleviate the sting and accompanying blisters (will completely cure the stinging and blisters with regular spraying), however, it is always best to protect your skin to keep the aggravation away.
Step two is picking the leaves from the plant, or, cutting the top 5 to 6 inches of the plant and remove the leaves as you are washing the stems/leaves with water to cleanse.
Step three has two possible steps:
remove the leaves from the stems (while washing) and laying them out on a towel to dry before using a dehydrator
with the leaves intact on the stem, place the washed stem/leaves on a towel to dry
Step four has two possible steps:
Dehydrator - place the leaves on the shelves of the dehydrator, making sure none of the leaves are touching, run the dehydrator for 12 to 18 hours @ 35°C or 95°F
Tie the stems/leaves into small bundles and hang dry in a well ventilated area for 1 to 3 weeks until completely dried
Step five is storing the dried product in a glass jar (try not to use plastic) as is. Do not store in powder form. If you need the leaves turned into powder for making product, do so when you are making the product. Example, Stinging Nettle Pain Relief.
Enjoy the process!
